Krysten’s Review

It took me a minute to get into this book, but once I did, it was really good! Lots of twists and turns, plenty of suspicious characters, and an interesting use of shifting points of view. I wasn’t a huge fan of the flashbacks from Ben’s perspective… they seemed to drag out and didn’t feel like they served much purpose until the very end. A few of the twists I had at least an inkling were coming, but just as many were surprises. Throughout the book, I found myself wondering what this event or that character had to do with the greater storyline, but the author pulled everything together in the end, which was very satisfying. The climax was exciting, if a bit cliche in the execution (bad guy monologue). The book could use another editing pass, as I found a good number of errors, but overall an exciting and enjoyable read! I would definitely read another book by this author.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
