The One for Forever by Hannah Shield
Krysten’s Review
This was a quick, fun, and sexy read! I enjoyed the suspense, and no one can say Hannah Shield doesn’t know how to write a hot love scene. But I found it difficult to get on board with the romance between the main characters. It’s not so much the difference in their ages as the fact that Rex was Quinn’s best friend’s dad and knew her when she was in high school. It just had an ick factor that made me feel vaguely uncomfortable when reading. I’m sure this kind of thing happens in real life, but even so, I’m sure a lot of people would be kind of grossed out by it. Sure, it’s not unusual for high school kids to have crushes on cute teachers or friends’ parents, but to have that crush persist so long after the fact didn’t feel realistic to me. I think if the two characters had met outside of that already established relationship, it would have felt more authentic.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

He's the older man I've always wanted. An ex-Special Forces hero. My best friend’s dad. And now, he's the bodyguard assigned to protect me while I prosecute a killer.
