Third-year Ph.D. candidate Olive Smith doesn't believe in lasting romantic relationships--but her best friend does, and that's what got her into this situation. To convince her, Olive panics and kisses the first man she sees: Adam Carlsen, a young hotshot professor--and well-known ass. Which is why Olive is positively floored when he agrees to keep her charade a secret and be her fake boyfriend.

Krysten’s Review

I. Loved. This. Book. And I have to say, despite all the hype about it, falling in love with it was totally unexpected. (Wink, wink.)

The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood is cute and fast paced and funny and so, so smart. The characters are real and relatable (even though they’re much more intelligent than I am!), their relationships felt natural, and their problems and flaws were realistic and sometimes even cringeworthy. Unlike most romances I’ve read, the awkward situations the hero and heroine found themselves in, the traumas of their pasts, the challenges they faced and insecurities they felt weren’t forced, irrelevant, or laughably insignificant. Everything that happened had a purpose: To challenge their weaknesses, to break down the barriers between them, to help them grow individually and together.

I loved Hazelwood’s writing style and found myself, much like Olive, grinning like an idiot as I was reading. I loved the way the book normalized different sexualities and smart, strong women, and didn’t dumb them down to make them more palatable. I just all around loved this book and plan to read every. single. thing. Hazelwood writes.
