All This Time by Annabelle McCormack
Krysten’s Review
Fear and worry don’t stop the bad things from happening or give you extra time. The only thing they do is stop you from living the life you have today and steal your joy.
I’m not your typical romance reader. Generally I find it cheesy, cringey, and formulaic. But I needed a break from murder mysteries and suspenseful thrillers and wanted something lighthearted and easy to read. While browsing ARCs on BookSirens, I came across this one, and the excerpt hooked me right away, so I gave it a try. I’m glad I did!
While All This Time does have all the romance conventions I generally roll my eyes at, I did not find this to be a conventional romance. It was well written and fun to read, with compelling, rounded characters and a multi-faceted plot. The story is about much more than just the romance. The characters have major family and work-related issues; struggle with addiction and past trauma; give in to fears and temptation; and make plenty of mistakes, both with each other and the other characters. The sex scenes were hot 😉 without being over the top or cringey. I appreciate that the author didn’t have the protagonists jump right into bed together or use 101 crude words to describe their genitalia. She took the time to introduce the characters and draw me into the story, making their eventual relationship natural and believable.
All in all, I really enjoyed the book and sped through it in just one day! As soon as I finished, I hopped back on BookSirens to grab the second book.
