All the Truth That’s in Me by Julie Berry
Four years ago, Judith and her best friend disappeared from their small town of Roswell Station. Two years ago, only Judith returned, permanently mutilated, reviled and ignored by those who were once her friends and family. When the town is attacked, long-buried secrets come to light, and Judith is forced to choose: continue to live in silence, or recover her voice, even if it means changing her world, and the lives around her, forever.
Krysten’s Review
There are several reasons why this book should have been a failure: It’s written in second person (!); it’s disjointed; it jumps back and forth between past and present, often and with no warning; and as a reader you have only a vague idea of when and where it takes place. But a failure it was not. It is frustrating and inspiring, tragic and triumphant, heartbreaking and heartwarming.
And you must read it.
